Graham - 4 months

Graham is 4 months old now!

At his dr. appt he weighed 17 pounds and 12 oz. (gained 7 pounds since birth!) and was 27 inches long. He is still in the top percentiles for both. His doctor commented that he is well proportioned for his size.

He is definitely in 9 month clothes and the other day I put him in a 12 month shirt and surprisingly it fit. Who knows what size we will be in by the time he is actually one! Such a big boy.

He isn't in a rush to roll yet. I saw him do it once, but not more since then. He hates being on his stomach but does well in his walker and bumbo seat. He reaches for lots of things, including my hair. Favorite toys are little plastic rings, keys, play remote and rattles. Peekaboo is a huge favorite too.

He is such a happy, easygoing baby and smiles all the time. Ruby had such a different temperment at the same age...we could hardly catch pictures of her smiling ever.

Right now he constantly has his fists in his mouth which may be early stages of teething. The dr. said he doesn't have any teeth coming in yet and that his hand eating is more entertainment for him.

Looking like a wise old man at 4 months.

Graham and daddy

Graham visited Alex in his office a few days ago.

Smiles as always!

Such a proud papa.

Graham in Baby Bjorn

Graham is really enjoying being carried around in the baby bjorn. He faces out and can see everything. He is getting pretty heavy though!

Ruby - 34 months

Here are some pics of Ruby from playing in the yard this past week. She is getting to be such a smart, independent girl. She surprises us all the time with her language. The other night I was putting her down for a nap and after we did books and songs, I said, 'I love you Ruby, you are so special to me.' She looked at me with a glimmer in her eye and said, 'you are fascinating to me.'' I am not kidding. I have never said this to her ever. This melted my heart.

Hawaii 2012

Alex had a successful 2011 with work and was awarded an all-inclusive trip to Hawaii. We stayed at the Four Seasons Resort near Kona on the Big Island.

Alex's mom watched Ruby for the week and my mom watched Graham so we could fully enjoy the trip! Thank you!

The resort was beautiful and we enjoyed several leisurely strolls on the beach and afternoons lounging by the pool.

We took a helicopter tour of the island and saw volcanoes, waterfalls, the dramatic coastline and amazing valleys. Here is a view of part of our resort from the helicopter.

One of the valleys we flew by, we landed in one similar to this for a short hike around.

One day we went deep sea fishing and I caught an 84 inch, 50 pound striped Marlin. We are having it mounted and it will soon be swimming on the wall in the living room. We took some large filets of the fish back to the resort and they prepared it for us three different ways.

Alex and I agreed it was the most relaxed we have been in a few years! What a fantastic trip.

Bathtime!

Graham is such a sweet natured, agreeable kiddo. He smiles ALL THE TIME. He loves bathtime and never grumbles or cries, even when we do his hair or get him out of the tub.

I can't get enough of the smiles!

Playing peekaboo. He LOVES it!
