Alex had a successful 2011 with work and was awarded an all-inclusive trip to Hawaii. We stayed at the Four Seasons Resort near Kona on the Big Island.Alex's mom watched Ruby for the week and my mom watched Graham so we could fully enjoy the trip! Thank you!
The resort was beautiful and we enjoyed several leisurely strolls on the beach and afternoons lounging by the pool.
We took a helicopter tour of the island and saw volcanoes, waterfalls, the dramatic coastline and amazing valleys. Here is a view of part of our resort from the helicopter.
One of the valleys we flew by, we landed in one similar to this for a short hike around.
One day we went deep sea fishing and I caught an 84 inch, 50 pound striped Marlin. We are having it mounted and it will soon be swimming on the wall in the living room. We took some large filets of the fish back to the resort and they prepared it for us three different ways.
Alex and I agreed it was the most relaxed we have been in a few years! What a fantastic trip.
