Big Sister Ruby

We've been talking about it for months, reading books, pointing at baby brother in mama's belly, getting the nursery ready...and finally, Ruby is a big sister!

Talking to friends with two kids I was nervous about her being jealous and throwing tantrums. However, we have not experienced this yet (and he is now 3 weeks old). She has been curious (where is baby brother?), wanting to hold him and help feed him. She tells me when he is crying and likes to pull up her stool to watch me change his diaper.

She is still her cute, silly, and sweet self.

I think Ruby will be a great big sister to baby Graham!

THANK YOU MOM

Dear Mom,

Thank you so much for staying with us for two weeks. I know Ruby loved spending so much time with you and I'm so glad you were a part of Graham's early days. You were such a big help and I don't know how we would have done it without you. Love, Laura

Grandpa Goodell comes to visit

My dad came to visit the weekend after Graham was born. Here he is spending some time with both kiddos.

Heading home from the hospital

After four days in the hospital we headed home with Graham!

All dressed up for his first ride in the car. Our friend Julie knitted this cute hat!

Graham meets more of his family

Ruby came up to the hospital to meet her baby brother for the first time. She was curious and gentle, touching his little feet and hands. We've been talking about Graham's arrival for months now, so it's great to finally introduce them.

My mom came to stay with us for a few weeks. Here she is cuddling her grandson for the first time!

The Macnabs also came to visit. Here's Di meeting Graham.

Happy Birthday Graham Alexander Macnab

On November 1, 2011 Graham Alexander Macnab was born via planned c-section at 12:36 pm, weighing 10 pounds and 12 inches, and measuring 21.5 inches long.

As soon as the doctors delivered him they all were commenting on his size. Early on in the pregnancy an ultrasound showed him being large, but I never had any confirmation later on. No wonder I was so uncomfortable toward the end of my pregnancy! Graham is a GIANT!

Here he is shortly after birth. Such a sweet baby boy with dark brown hair and deep blue eyes.

Graham has long fingers and toes.

Happy mama enjoying some cuddles in the recovery room.

Welcome to the world Graham!

Arriving at the hospital - 11/1/11

Here I am the morning of our planned c-section, arriving at the hospital 39 weeks pregnant. The past few weeks of the pregnancy were quite uncomfortable as the baby was wedged under my ribs. I'm happy that this pregnancy is over and I don't have to do that again.

We are so excited to meet our baby boy!
