Cinco de Mayo fun

We went to a Cinco de Mayo playdate with our mom and baby friends. Here's Ruby doing her stink face...but she did look cute in her tropical top!

She loved this ball.

Late this afternoon we walked down to our neighborhood spray park (I love it!!!) and Ruby got to splash around in the fountains. I feel so lucky we have this less about 5 minutes from where we live! I'm sure we'll be spending lots of time there this summer.

Alex does the Warrior Dash

This past Saturday Alex participated in the Warrior Dash. It included running, a bit of swimming and mud crawling. He really enjoyed it. Ruby and I went to Canton for a while and then met him afterwards for the live music, beer and food.

Here is scruffy daddy with glamorous Ruby.

Strawberry Picking

Last week we went strawberry picking with some friends. Ruby is in that inbetween phase where she can't walk quite yet, and she can only tolerate being carried for so long (usually there is some back arching after 5 minutes!!!). So, as you can imagine...she loooved crawling around in the sandy flower beds and eating the half eaten strawberries she discovered in her path.

But she did have just the right outfit for strawberry picking (no, I did not buy it just for the occasion...it was a consignment store discovery from a while ago!!!)

Ruby and her buddies in the strawberry patch

Ruby plays in her new room

Here's Ruby in her new room. She loves to watch for birds out her window.

Over the past several weeks she has started pointing at anything she is interested in. It is usually accompanied by some squeals indicating how excited she is!

Walk down to our neighborhood park and pond

After Alex finished work we walked down the street to our neighborhood park. Ruby loves the swings. She also loves watching the ducks and birds near the pond. It is such a relaxing way to wind down at the end of the day!

Ruby in the Bluebonnets - part two

My friend Lori and her daughter Maddie met us to take some pictures in the bluebonnets. We found a great area just off of 114 (which meant we didn't have to dare the highway roadsides!) Ruby was cooperative for about 15 minutes so I was able to take several good pictures of her!

I can't imagine a better way to spend a morning than with my beautiful daughter in the bluebonnets!

Such a pretty setting!

Such a sweet baby girl!

Ruby got to chat with her friend Maddie. They are about 1 month apart in age.

Here they are comparing their pretty dresses.
