Our Christmas Tree

Alex and I decorated our tree last weekend. We decided that we'll wait until Ruby is a bit older to 'help' us with the decorating.

The morning Ruby first saw it she was so excited naming all the things she could see...ball (silver ornaments), cat, frog, stars, moon, Ruby (picture ornament of her from last year). She also knows that the tree sits in a stand full of wa-wa (water).

So far she hasn't removed anything from the tree. But just in case it is well secured to our stairwell.

Ruby and the snowman family

I have always been against cheesy inflatable yard art...But, after seeing Ruby's reaction to our neighborhood's Halloween decorations and inflatables, we just had to get something fun for our yard for the holidays!

Alex and I chose this cute snowman family...and Ruby loves it. We set it on a timer so it comes on at dusk.

Ruby always wants to peek outside and if they are deflated (during the day) she says uh-oh. But when she sees them all blown up at night she gets so excited. We wave at the snowmen and say hello.

So neat to see her enjoying Christmas magic.

Choosing a Christmas tree

Last weekend we went and got our Christmas tree. I really enjoy having the house decorated as early as possible!

Ruby was dressed cozily for the occasion.

(Look at the strange position of her feet.)

Cool morning at the park with daddy

Last weekend we went to the park...it was quite chilly so Ruby wore the hat that Julie knitted for her!

Ruby loves her daddy!

Fun in the tire swing.

Ruby and her cousin

Ruby and her cousin, Alex, played on Thanksgiving.

Ruby shared her cars.

And they played with her kitchen a bit.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We hosted Thanksgiving lunch at our house this year.

Alex made a fantastic turkey!

The Macnabs and Robersons joined us for lunch.

Ruby and her cousin enjoyed some pumpkin pie.

Fun in the fall leaves

Our backyard leaves were beautiful the week before Thanksgiving...and then they started falling.

Alex raked them into a big pile for Ruby to play in.
