Trunk show

A friend of mine who makes jewelry invited me to join her trunk show to display some of the dresses and hair bows I have been making.

Here is my dress display.

I made this for one of the girls who ordered a dress.

I made this for Ruby to wear to the pumpkin patch one day.

Here are a few initial bows I made.

Enjoying the last days of the neighborhood pools

Our neighborhood pools will only be open another week or so for this summer season. Alex, Ruby and I enjoyed Saturday morning at the pools with our friends Mark, Jessica and their son Hudson.

Amazing how much Ruby has changed over the summer. When we first visited our pools she was a bit timid, and couldn't walk.

Now she is very comfortable in the water, loves to splash and enjoys being as independent as she can be!

She loves the pools. As soon as we drive up, she recognizes the scenery and gets excited!

I sure have enjoyed having these pools this first summer and can't wait to enjoy them more in the years to come!

Morning with daddy

Since Alex works from home we always have our coffee together while Ruby has her breakfast. I feel lucky to have this time together!

Tutu playdate at Ruby's house

Last week we had a small tutu playdate at our house.

Here's Ruby waiting for her guests to arrive at the front window.

Taking a morning stroll outside.

Ruby and her friend Maddie show off their cute tutus!

Evening walk with Mama and Daddy

Since it was a bit cooler, we took an evening walk around the neighborhood pond. We haven't done this in months because it has still been nearly 100 degrees, even at 7 pm!

Ruby enjoyed her freedom walking the sidewalks.

She got to see the neighborhood ducks.

Such a happy and beautiful toddler.

Unseasonably cool trip to the zoo

Last week it was overcast with a high in the eighties...so we headed to the zoo! It was so much more enjoyable without the heat!

We got to get up close to the monkeys.

And the alligators.

I love watching Ruby watch the fish and turtles in the aquarium.

Ruby Reading

Ruby enjoys reading. It is especially entertaining to see her read magazines. She points out all the babies, cats and dogs. And once she was reading one of my celebrity magazines and there was a woman wearing blue lipstick (who knows why!)...Ruby recognized this was odd and exclaimed something in jibberish.

Sometimes you just need a closer look.

She loves to sit on the sofa and look at her picture books.
