VIDEO - Ruby walking

This past week Ruby has been taking more and more steps. She is getting increasingly confident standing up in the middle of the room and walking to us. Once I think she did a good 10 or 12 steps which was so exciting!

I can't wait until she can walk...so that when I get asked for the annoyingly bazillionth time 'is she walking yet?'...I can say YES!!!

July 4th Weekend with the Hendricks

We drove to Hunstsville to spend July 4th with the Hendricks. We had such a fantastic, relaxing weekend.

We ate some delicious BBQ and Alex's friend John grilled some tasty burgers.

We went to the local fireworks stand...where the interesting character in the grey tank top sold us all sorts of fireworks. Later that night we set them off (luckily Ruby slept inside).





We spent a good portion of the Fourth at the pool. Alex and John doing tube wars...

Bathtime in the sink

Alex still gives Ruby a bath in our sink. Surprisingly even with her long legs she still fits. She loves bathtime!

Video - Meoooowww...Meow

Kate gave Ruby a soft cat doll a few months ago. Since then it has become the favorite!

We always show Ruby cats in books and out in public and also tell her that her cat can meow too. She has been meowing for some time, but we finally caught an extended video clip of her meowing. She does this in the car, grocery store, while laying in her crib. As long as her cat is around, they talk.

Pre July 4th Playdate

Ruby and I hosted a fantasticly festive July 4th playdate last Friday. I believe we had nearly 30 people - moms and babies all around Ruby's age. There were kiddos at every turn! It was a potluck and everyone brought something delicious to share. I made my mom's yummy potato salad.

July 1st - Ruby walks (well 4 steps at least!)

I've been leaving Ruby standing on her own for a few weeks now and finally last night (July 1st) she walked 4 steps on her own on about 10 separate occasions! I was so excited. Luckily Alex was nearby and could come watch too. We are so proud!

Ruby and Roman - Reunited again!

My friend Brenda and her son Roman were in town visiting from London. We got the babies together for a playdate. (Brenda and I met when we were pregnant in London, and our babies are just a few weeks apart!)
